About Us

The Tarleton State University Office of Scholarships is committed to providing assistance to students in pursuit of their education.

Scholarships are awarded for academic ability and achievement, demonstrated leadership, ability to perform (music, band, etc.), extracurricular activities, financial need, and other criteria as defined by specific scholarship programs.

More than 400 different endowed, local, departmental, and other scholarships are available to students attending Tarleton State University. Tarleton has one application for all scholarships.Scholarship applications are sent to the various scholarship committees based on the information provided on the application.

Any student receiving institutional scholarships valued at $4,000 or more is generally not eligible for other institutional scholarships.

Services
  • process and maintain scholarship applications for current and future Tarleton State University students
  • notify students by mail if they are selected as scholarship recipients
  • post and document all private scholarships (those not funded by the institution)

Requirements for Scholarships



  Incoming Freshmen Returning & Transfer
Academic Awards
  • Typically Top 25% of High School class AND
  • SAT 1000 (Math & Verbal) OR ACT 23 (Composite)
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
Leadership Awards
  • Typically  Top 25% of High School class AND
  • SAT 1000 (Math & Verbal) OR ACT 23 (Composite) AND
  • Demonstrate Leadership Skills
  • 2.75 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrate Leadership Skills
Need-Based Awards
  • Preference to First Generation Students AND
  • Demonstrate Financial Need Based on FAFSA
  • Preference to First Generation Students AND
  • Demonstrate Financial Need Based on FAFSA AND
  • 2.4 GPA or higher
