Institutional Effectiveness Division Reports
Overview
The institutional effectiveness system at Tarleton has undergone great change and improvement since the last Southern Association of Colleges and Schools reaffirmation in 2000. In the maturation process over the last 10 years, many systems of institutional evaluation have been put in place at every level of the university. The Office of Planning, Evaluation and Institutional Research (OPEIR) was created in the mid-1990s and has assisted in placing an increased emphasis on university-wide assessment in both academic and non-academic areas during the 10 year interim between reaffirmations.
Fall 2007 - Present
Beginning in 2007-2008 a software package, WEAVEonline, has been used to record Tarleton’s institutional effectiveness efforts. Through the purchase of this software, Tarleton has achieved more effective monitoring of all institutional effectiveness units. Tarleton is currently assessing approximately 300 individual units within the university and its colleges, divisions, departments, programs, and committees. This assists the university with integration and coordination of each and every academic and non-academic unit for annual establishment of goals, measurements, assessment data, strategies, budgetary needs and evaluation.
