Registration Dates

Registration is available online through myGateway, 24 hours a day 7 days a week (excluding maintenance periods) according to the dates listed below.  Students must meet the following requirements in order to register for classes:

• Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Requirement:  All “new” students for a given semester must show evidence of receipt of an initial bacterial meningitis vaccination dose or booster during the five-year period preceding and at least 10 days prior to the first day of the first semester in which the student initially enrolls at an institution.  This state law includes transfer students and undergraduate and graduate level students.  Students must provide proof prior to orientation and/or registration.  Additional information can be reviewed at http://www.tarleton.edu/admissions/bacterial-meningitis.html.
• Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is required by all public institutions for the course placement of undergraduate students.  Tarleton State University requests that students prove exemption status or provide complete THEA, ASSET, COMPASS, or ACCUPLACER scores before course registration. • To be eligible to register, students must be admitted to the university, have all vaccination requirements, financial obligations, and testing requirements cleared as well as have no current holds on their academic record.
• First-time freshman and new transfer students with less than 30 hours will need to complete new student orientation prior to registering for classes.  Students who require orientation will be contacted by the Office of Student Engagement.
• Student's will register based on their current classification at the time of registration. In progress courses are not included when determining classification for registration purposes.

SUMMER 2013 REGISTRATION

Early Registration

Early registration is based on a student's current classification at the time of registration.  In progress courses are not included when determining classification for registration purposes.   Students who are eligible to register may do so anytime on or after the date has passed for their classification group.

2nd 5 week (summer II) registration

Registration for the 2nd 5 week summer session (July 8-August 8) will be available April 1- June 4, and June 8-July 8.  The last day to register online through myGateway for the 2nd 5 week summer session will be the first class day of the semester, July 8.  After July 8, students wishing to add a course or change their schedule must contact the Registrar's Office.

Late Registration: 10 week, 1st 5 week, 2nd 5 week, and 8 week summer sessions

Late registration online through myGateway for the 10 week, 1st 5 week, and 2nd 5 week summer sessions for the summer 2013 semester are according to the dates listed below.  Students wishing to add a course or change their schedule after the listed late registration dates, for the specified session, must contact the Registrar's Office.  Please note, a $25 late fee may be assessed for late registration.

FALL 2013 REGISTRATION

Early Registration

Early Registration is based on a student's current classification at the time of registration.  In progress courses are not included when determining classification for registration purposes.  Students who are eligible to register may do so anytime on or after the date has passed for their classification group.

Late Registration: 16 week and 1st 8 week sessions

Late registration online through myGateway for the 16 week and 1st 8 week sessions for the fall 2013 semester are according to the dates listed below.  Students wishing to add a course or change their schedule for the 16 week or 1st 8 week session after August 28 must contact the Registrar's Office.  Please note, that a $25 late fee may be assessed for late registrants.

2nd 8 week registration

Registration for the 2nd 8 week classes (October 21- December 12) will be available April 1- August 28, and September 5- October 21.  The last day to register for classes online through myGateway for the 2nd 8 week session will be October 21, 2013.  Beginning October 22, students wishing to add a course or change their schedule must contact the Registrar's Office.
