Adventure Trips

Feeling adventurous?  Prove it.

Join Tarleton Outdoor Pursuits as we explore Texas this year on our adventure trips to locations ranging from the Brazos River to the captivating Lost Maples State Park and beyond!

See below for more information about the trips we will be taking this fall and head on over to the Outdoor Pursuits Checkout Center located in the Recreation Sports Center to get signed up!

Spring 2012 Trips

Prices of the weekend trips include transportation, meals, and all equipment unless otherwise noted. For the one day trips you will provide your own transportation and lunch.  Sign up by the deadline indicated at the Outdoor Pursuits Checkout Center located in Rec Sports.

S'Mores & Cocoa Social

Date: Tuesday, January 31st

Time: 7pm to 9pm

Location: Behind the Rec Center

Cost: FREE

Description: Come meet the Outdoor Pursuit staff and learn about upcoming trips and clinics while roasting marshmallows and sipping cocoa! Bring a friend and come enjoy a tasty treat with us!

Mineral Wells Rock Climbing

Date: Saturday, February 25th

Time: 10am to 4pm

Location: Mineral Wells State Park

Sign Up Deadline: Wednesday, February 22

Pre-Trip Meeting: Wednesday, February 22, 6pm at the Rec Sports Outdoor Pursuits Center

Cost: $10 (Participants must provide their own lunch and transportation)

Description: Come out to Mineral Wells and climb with the Outdoor Pursuit staff. It does not matter if you are an experienced climber or have never climbed before, we will teach you the ways of the rock! Drive up with your friends and bring a lunch! Equipment will be provided.

Dutch Oven Cooking Clinic

Date: Wednesday, February 29

Time: 3pm to 5pm

Location: Outdoor Pursuits Center in the Rec

Cost: FREE

Description: Like to cook? Come join the Outdoor Pursuits staff for some good old camp cooking! Learn how to cook over hot coals with a cast iron Dutch oven. Bring a friend and come enjoy some tasty treats! Equipment will be provided.

Spring Break Hill Country 4-Day Adventure

Date: Monday, March 12 to Thursday, March 15

Time: TBA

Location: Central Texas Hill Country

Sign Up Deadline: Wednesday, March 7

Pre-Trip Meeting: Wednesday March 7, 6pm at the Rec Sports Outdoor Pursuits Center

Cost: $40 (Includes transportation, food, equipment from the check-out center and park entrance fees)

Description: Don't have anything to do for Spring Break? Join the Outdoor Pursuit staff for a 4-day adventure tour of the beautiful Texas Hill Country! We will be camping and hiking at Pedernales Falls State Park for 2 nights and 1 day, rock climbing at Reimer's Ranch and hiking/swimming at Hamilton Pool for 1 day, camping and kayaking at Inks Lake State Park for 1 night and 1 day, and taking a tour of Longhorn Caverns for 1 day! Come join us for 4 days and 3 nights of fun and adventure!

Disc Golf Day at the Park

Date: Saturday, March 24th

Time: 1pm to 3pm

Location: Stephenville City Park Amphitheater

Cost: FREE

Description: Come join the Outdoor Pursuit staff for a game of disc golf at the Stephenville City Park! It does not matter if you are an experienced player or have never played before, we can teach you how to play! Bring your friends and join us for a game of Disc Golf! Equipment will be provided.

Brazos River Kayaking

Date: Saturday, April 14th

Time: 8am to 5pm

Location: Rochelle's Canoe Rental in Graford, TX

Sign Up Deadline: Wednesday, April 11

Pre-Trip Meeting: Wednesday April 11, 6pm at the Rec Sports Outdoor Pursuits Center

Cost: $10 (Participants must provide their own lunch and transportation)

Description: Love to Kayak? Come join the Outdoor Pursuit staff for a day of kayaking along the Brazos River! We will be kayaking 10 miles down the scenic Brazos River in Graford, TX. Bring your friends and enjoy a day on the river! Equipment will be provided.
