Recruitment was the best thing that I have ever done. Not only did I get to make friends for life, but I also got to take part in things that I have never experienced before. I love being a Plowboy and every Plowboy would say the same thing.

I would have to say that recruiting for plowboys was one of my most life changing experiences and although I had plenty of fun, I soon came to realize that not only was I a part of Tarleton, but I also had "brothers" that would be with me throughout the rest of my life.

As realize now as I approach the dreadful next decade of my life, that life comes in series of mini eras. These times are usually defined within "life altering" events, such as entering into Elementary school, middle school, high school, and eventually, for those who are considering joining this historic University, college. College is the most important step, not just because it is a higher level of learning, but mostly because it is when you are able to step out of your parents shadow and become a grown adult on your own. Decisions are made for the first time with out the aid or supervision of a guardian, and its here that we shape who we will be as adults.
For me going to Tarleton was very exciting, but at the same time, it was scary. I did not have any friends from high school going with me, and I was having to learn new faces and new names, and somehow decide who to buddy up with. After attending the 1st annual Duck Camp, I had a handful of friends and it was odd that these people actually had so much in common with me. We saw for the first time the Plowboys at the Traditions Rally, and they looked like they had it together, and oh boy were the chicks checking them out!!! It was over a few Lone Star Lights(the National Beer of Plowboys at that time) my friends and I decided we were going to recruit with the Plowboys. Oh what a good decision. I never knew I would be apart of so much, and be able to be a key tool in creating so many nationally recognized events. I was given the opportunity to help built what has become the world's largest (legal) Bonfire! We organized so many mixers and parties to support the school and the Plowboys, and I was becoming part of the University Fabric! This had become the best year of my young life! I learned so much about how to deal with responsibility when we put on Bullfest, a two day PBR sanctioned bull ride, with the likes of Tuff Hedeman, Ty Murray, Jim Sharp, to name a few.
Yeah I learned a lot in school about books, but the Plowboys taught me the most about life and how to live it to the fullest! I was qualified for the job I hold today because of my degree, but I got the job, because of who I became in "The Best Damn Organization!"
The Plowboys!
