Phase I
- Members will attend weekly workshops where they
will learn about leadership topics such as:
- Commucication/Listening
- Leadership Ethics
- Personality types
- Time/Stress Management
- Many others!
These workshops are interactive and fun, and are designed to help members
in their own personal growth as well as development as a group.
Phase II
- Members continue to attend weekly workshops,
and are given opportunities to present leadership topics to Phase I.
Phase II members are given a chance to practice their leadership skills
by working together on a group service project of their choice. In addition
to this, they also begin preparation for their Phase III community service
project.
Phase III
- After Phase II, members move into the
final phase of the program which is the planning, organizing, and implementation
of a community service project. This phase of TASL is very different
from the other phases in that members are expected to work on their
own. Projects in the past have included:
- Basketball Clinics
- The Big Event
- Duck Camp
- Fun Day at Foster Home
- Habitat for Humanity
- Pet Walk
- Anything that interests you!
Members must put forth 25 hours of
their own time into the project, and have a leadership role. (Ex. working
25 hours picking up trash will not work, but being in charge of adopting
a section of highway would.) Projects should link the community (not
necessarily Stephenville) to Tarleton in some way. Members may complete
Phase III at any time after completing Phase II, and before their graduation.
