What is Psychology Club? |
| First of all, it is a place to find other students with similar interests whether you are a new student at Tarleton or a returned student. Though not a requirement for participation, most of our members will be psychology majors and probably in the same courses as you. Plan on going on to graduate school? Or just want to know more about it, like how to get there? Well then, this will be a great place to find those answers. As a member of the psychology club you will have the opportunity to meet with your professors on a more personal level, something that is difficult to do in the classroom. In keeping with the social nature of our club, we hold many club and university gatherings. Some of these gatherings will serve as fundraisers, and some will just be chances to get to know each other better. Though we have fun, because we wouldn't do it otherwise, psychology club is not just about the social events. Another goal of the club is to increase your knowledge of psychology as a science with widespread applications. To this end, we hope to recruit multiple speakers throughout the year, each representing the varied areas of interest within psychology. The good news is, you choose the speakers. Finally, it is always a goal of Psychology club to encourage its members to engage in research. What better way to do this than to attend conferences and see how people all over the world are conducting research into this ever changing area of science! Want to know more? Come check us out!!!!
