NCELP Program Design
With the collaboration of the supporting entities, the program will be presented employing the following design:
- Thirty-three (33) Hour Masters/Degree Principal Certification
- Cohort Design
- Courses are designed in a sequential manner for more in-depth learning opportunities
- ILD and PDAS Certifications
- 1 Full Semester of Internship
- Conference Attendance Included with Class Components
- Texas Elementary Principal and Supervisors Association (TEPSA - Summer I)
- Legal Digest ( first and second summer )
- Effective Schools Project Seminars (fall and spring semesters)
- Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP - Summer II)
- Face-to-Face Orientation with Professors/University Supervisors/Cohort Members
- Flexibility - Face-to-Face Meeting Times are Based on Consensus of the Cohort
- Two Inception Periods (December and May)
- Seminars (Face-to-Face Provided on Saturday and/or Sunday)
- Ongoing Personal Support from Program Director and Program Specialist
- Networking opportunities with other cohort members and professionals
- Tarleton's Reputation for graduating High Quality & Professional Principals
The Mentorship Team
Including an on-site mentor, a university mentor, and the participant, will jointly structure experiences during the internship.
Administrative Internship
Field-based core of the program which provides structured, on-the-job learning opportunities. A program participant can serve as an intern, assistant principal, principal or in another administrative position.
