About Us

The Department of Request Marketing ProjectMarketing & Communications develops marketing strategies and tactics to build awareness and create interest in Tarleton.  As part of a planned branding and marketing program, Marketing & Communications also can integrate marketing and communications strategies for individual colleges, departments and programs.  Through bundling, we sometimes are able to achieve cost savings while creating greater image impact. We can design your advertisement/marketing projects and provide guidance on placement. We will ensure that messages both reflect the university’s overall marketing strategies and are effective in reaching Tarleton constituencies.

News & Announcements

Tarleton Marketing and Communications Team Honored at Conference

The Department of Marketing and Communications garnered a pair of awards at the recent annual Council for Advancement and Support of Education District IV conference in Fort Worth. 

Two publications "Viewbook and Teaser" were selected as a finalist in the category of Design - Publication Design Series in the 2017 CASE IV Accolades competition finishing with a silver award. The project was created by graphic designer David Rutledge, working with Welcome Center staff. 

Additionally, Tarleton student intern videographer and digital media major Ryne Clem submitted a video, "2016 Homecoming Recap" that was chosen as a finalist in the Video-Student Produced category, taking a bronze. Clem works under Video Services Manager Michael Simpson. 

Competition for the awards came from 261 CASE member institutions across Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Creative Services

From brochures and pamphlets to journals and anthologies, the Office of Creative Services is available to help produce campus publications. We can transform your text and visuals into professionally designed print and electronic publications. We can also assist in the competitive bid print purchasing process and provide direction for presenting your message in print. Creative Services also manages Tarleton's official social media accounts and disseminates policies and guidelines for departmental and organizational social media accounts.

Media Relations

The Office of Media Relations work to promote and communicate Tarleton’s mission to both internal and external audiences through methods such as Web site postings, press releases, media pitches, the maintenance of an experts list and the management of interview requests. Our goal is to showcase Tarleton and to inform local, state and national audiences about our fantastic faculty, outstanding educational programs, innovative research projects and magnificent events that occur on our campus. In general, news releases are intended to publicize 1) honors or achievements by faculty, staff or students 2) programs that are open to the public or of significant interest to the entire Tarleton community, i.e., faculty, staff and students 3) news, programs, events or efforts that would in some way be of interest to those outside Tarleton.

Video Services

The Office of Video Services creates video programs to promote and enhance the vision of Tarleton State University and its departments. We also write, or assist in the process of writing, scripts, storyboards, and graphic information for programming, capture video footage from events and activities, create or assist in production of animations and graphics, edit and composite the elements of a program, and facilitate the production and streaming of select events to internet portals.

Web Strategy

University Web Strategy creates and maintains the design, infrastructure, and marketing strategy for the university website. University Web Strategy utilizes Cascade Server as the university’s web content management system and provides full Cascade support, as well as individual training sessions. University Web Strategy consults with departments and organizations to enhance their web presence or construct a new site. The mission of University Web Strategy is to support the goals of the university by providing an informative and inviting web presence to prospective students as well as current students, faculty, and staff.
