Tarleton State University Libraries Catalog - Database of all items owned by Tarleton Libraries. Look here for books, government reports, journal titles, videos, CDs, etc. Keyword searching is available.
Library of Texas - Search for Books and Articles from libraries located in Texas. The Library of Texas lets you pick the library collections you search, helping you locate items near you.
WorldCat - (FirstSearch Core) Books and other materials in libraries worldwide. WorldCat contains more than 32 million records describing items owned by libraries around the world. If Tarleton does not own these items, they can be requested through Inter-Library Loan.
Databases and Journal articles
Academic Search Complete - provides full text for over 3,200 journals covering the social sciences, humanities, general science, etc. Examples of social work journals indexed in this database are: Social Work, Social Work Research, Afflia: Journal of Women and Social Work, British Journal of Social Work, and Research on Social Work Practice.
Annual Reviews - Full text access to 29 authoritative annual reviews in different subjects.
Credo Reference - online reference collection, and it features full-text content from hundreds of reference books covering a broad range of subjects. It's a search engine like Google, but instead of searching the entire Internet, your results come from a comprehensive library of trusted reference sources without advertisements, clutter, or irrelevant hits. Includes coverage in: art and music, business, geography, history, literature and language, medicine, religion, and science.
Dissertations and Theses - Full Text - The full text of more than one million of these titles is available in paper and microform formats. Institutional subscribers to ProQuest Dissertations and Theses - Full Text receive on-line access to the complete file of dissertations in digital format starting with titles published from 1997 forward.
Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection - A comprehensive database with more than 470 full-text titles. This database covers information concerning topics in emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods. Social Work journals include Journal of Social Work Education, Social Work Research, and Social Forces.
PsychINFO - The database covers a wide range of topics, including psychology, psychiatry, and related information from the fields of education, business, medicine, nursing, law, and social work. Social Work journals include Child and Family Social Work, Educational Gerontology, and Families in Society.
SciVerse - a Web database for scientific research that contains the full-text of more than 1,200 Elsevier Science journals in the life, physical, medical, technical, and social sciences available through the Internet. Examples of social work journals indexed in this database are: Child Abuse and Neglect, Children and Youth Services Review, and Journal of Aging Studies.
Social Services Abstracts - provides bibliographic coverage of current research focused on social work, human services, and related areas, including social welfare, social policy, and community development. The database abstracts and indexes over 1,406 serials publications and includes abstracts of journal articles and dissertations, and citations to book reviews.
SocIndex with Full Text - provides indexing and full text for many social work journals including: Social Work Review, Social Work, Social Work Education and Journal of Social Work Practice.
Sociological Abstracts - through FirstSearch - Provides information on all aspects of sociology and related disciplines like social work. With some full-text available, this international database includes over 1,500 journals. Examples of titles indexed in this database are: Administration in Social Work, Clinical Social Work Journal, Issues in Social Work Education, and Social Work with Groups.
