American Geographical Society - This oldest professional geographical organization in the United States, being established in 1851 has as its mission the linking of business, professional, and scholarly worlds in the creation and application of geographical knowledge and techniques to address economic, social, and environmental problems.
Association of American Geographers - Founded in 1904, the AAG is a scientific and educational society. Its 6,500 members share interests in the theory, methods, and practice of geography.

GIS Dictionary - geographic information system terms.
Geoscience Information Society - Founded in 1965, the GIS facilitates the exchange of information in the geosciences through cooperation among scientists, librarians, editors, cartographers, educators, and information professionals.
