Services for the Friends of the Library
The Library staff invites all Friends of the Dick Smith Library to take advantage of the services available to Friends members. Access to these services are available through the links listed below .
LIBRARY MATERIALS
Friends with a current membership card may borrow up to 20 items on their circulation account at one time. Standard overdue rates apply. Membership cards are mailed by the Circulation department and should arrive within 5-7 days after submitting your Friends application.
INTER-LIBRARY LOAN (ILLiad)
Interlibrary loan is a service to obtain materials not available in the local collection. Requests may be made to obtain books from other Tarleton Campuses or libraries nationwide. Requested items may include books, journal articles, microforms, videos, etc. All materials are obtained within the guidelines of copyright legislation.
Friends may borrow up to 20 items on their Inter-Library Loan (ILLiad) account at one time.
Most articles will be available online as pdf documents and can be accessed via your ILLiad account. You will be sent an email with a link for access. Other articles and loan materials will be delivered to the Dick Smith Library for pick-up.
COMPUTER ACCESS
The library provides computer guest accounts for access to the library's in-house computers. Guest passes are available during all library hours except 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday through Wednesday.
