Tarleton State University, a member of the Texas A&M University System, is a regional, comprehensive university located in Stephenville, Texas, with extension campuses in Fort Worth, Waco, and Midlothian. Additionally, Tarleton has a presence in Weatherford, Granbury and Thurber. Stephenville is a small town community that is located about 65 miles southwest of Fort Worth.
Founded in 1899, Tarleton offers over 90 programs of study within 5 academic colleges. With a current enrollment of approximately 11,000 students, Tarleton is a university of continuous significant growth. Students from approximately 225 Texas counties, 43 states, and 21 foreign countries comprise the student body. The current student to faculty ratio is 20 to 1.
