Texas A&M System offers a mandatory and optional retirement program. The mandatory retirement program is the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, also referred to as TRS. The Optional Retirement Program, commonly referred to as ORP, offers individuals a variety of additional investment opportunities.
In addition to mandatory participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) or Optional Retirement Program (ORP),
employees can enroll in a Tax-Deferred Account (TDA/403B) or the Texa$aver Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP/457).
