Here's a sampling of the accomplishments and whereabouts of some of the former Honors Scholars (identified by the year they entered the program).  If you have up-dates, corrections, or additions to these entries, or information about other former students, please contact us at honors@tarleton.edu.

Laurie (Harveson) Barker (1985) received a masters of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and has been the co-pastor, with her husband, of First Presbyterian Church in Junction, Texas since 2001.  In 2001, Laurie was inducted into TSU athletic hall of fame and in 1996, she was inducted into Bridgeport high school athletic hall of fame.

Rachel (Howell) Coffman (1985) is supervisor in the reservations organization for United Airlines.  She is also the global marketing manager for strictlytexas.com, an on-line retail outlet specializing in Texas products.

William Crews (1985) is an accounting supervisor for Anadarko Petroleum.

Lori (Steppick) Hicks (1985) is teaching at Joshua ISD.

Jennifer (Stuart) Tiller (1985) was outstanding graduate with a degree in pediatric nursing at the University of Texas in Austin.  She is currently working in emergency medicine in pediatrics in Tampa, Florida.

Scott Walker (1985) sold his company, Alliance Medical in Granbury, and is looking to start new career.  He also teaches private piano lessons to about a dozen students.

Monica (Wilson) Henderson (1986) is the membership development director at the Tejas Girl Scout Council.

James Parkey (1986) completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Toni (Randall) Rhodes (1986) is a life and health coach with Trevo, LLC and breeds, trains, and sells quarter horses.

Natalie (Adcock) Boyd (1987) completed her masters in English at the University of Alaska Anchorage.  Currently, she is staying at home with her daughter and doing voiceover and research consulting occasionally.

Rebecca (Bullock) Gattis (1987) received her master's in Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Dallas.  She and her husband own Gattis' Furniture USA.

Brad Kinney (1987) is the head cross country coach and assistant boys basketball coach at Lake Travis High School in Austin. He also teaches Biology and Pre-AP Biology.

David Bixler (1988) received his Ph.D. in physics from Rice University and is now a physics professor at Angelo State University. 

Amy (Landry) Kaarlela (1988) took graduate courses at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.  Currently, she works for Freese & Nichols Engineering in Fort Worth.

Kim (Kraatz) Leaverton (1988) completed her law degree at the University of Texas School of Law and is currently practicing law in Stephenville.  She is a shareholder of Fraser, Wilson & Bryan, P.C.  She is also the second Vice President of the Girl Scouts Heart of Texas Council Board, a member of the Zonta Club, and the President-elect of the Erath County Bar Association.

Lisa (Lopez) Camarrillo (1988) received her medical degree from Texas A&M.  Currently, she is a surgical pathologist and assistant residency program director in anatomic pathology at Scott and White in Temple.

Sherri (Simmons) Rogers (1988) is the owner/director of Destination Dance & Cheer in Fort Worth, Texas.

Monty Ray (1989) received an M.B.A. from Northeastern University in Boston.  He is currently working at GE as the site Finance Manger for the Bergon op Zoom site in the Netherlands.

Brent Rosenquist (1989) is a senior computer scientist for Adobe Systems.

Renee (Boles) Seals (1989) earned her master's in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman's University.  She is currently teaching science at the Melrose School in Brewster, New York.

Noble Acuff (1990) received his MBA at the University of Southern California.  He is currently the owner and principal consultant for The Acuff Group, a technology consulting company.

Rhett Guthrie (1990) received his Master's in mathematics from North Carolina State University.  He is the founder and president of byteCrafters, a full-service software technology consultancy and co-author of the Java 2 Performance and Idion Guide, one of the first books to be published on the topic of Java performance.

Kevin Hunt (1990) completed his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Indiana and went to The Scripps Research Institute for postdoctoral studies.  He works at Array as a medicinal chemist.

Amy (Neeb) Norman (1990) is teaching English at Grandview Junior High in Grandview, TX.

Michael Waid (1990) is working in Richardson, Texas as a senior consultant for Delta Corporate Services.

Mark Washington (1990) received his Masters of Business Administration from Amberton University, his Masters of Arts in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological seminary, and Doctorate in Educational Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the Director of Human Resources for City of Austin and pastor of Vision of Hope AME Church in Austin, Texas.

Amy (Hofsommer) Engelberg (1991) is Vice President for BankAtlantic in south Florida.  She is a commercial real estate lender and aspiring novelist.

Wayne Keith (1991) received his master's and Ph.D. in space physics from Rice Univeristy.  He is currently, teaching Physics at McMurry University in Abilene.

Dawn Sand (1991) is the human resources director with First Data Resources, the largest division of First Data Corporation, in Omaha, Nebraska. 

Misty (Wheeler) Clark (1992) is working for Meals on Wheels.

Nikki Febinger (1992) teaches elementary music at Rio Vista ISD, grades writing for the SAT and TAKS tests, and is a group fitness instructor for Cleburne Fitness Center.

Jason Power (1992) received his master's in Music in Theory and Composition from Texas Christian University. Currently, he is the IT Director for the Town of Westlake and its International Baccalaureate charter school, Westlake Academy. He composes and arranges music for area churches and organizations and plays piano, synth, organ, and percussion in several bands.

Crystell (Anz) Billman (1993) received her doctorate in dentistry from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.  She is practicing dentistry at Brazos Family Dentistry in Waco, Texas.

Pauline (Truesdale) Couch (1993) is studying veterinary medicine at Texas A&M.

Deirdra Dufault (1993) is working on her M.S. in Biology at South West Texas.  She also teaches 8th grade Science and serves as Department Chair at Harris Middle School in San Antonio.

Heather Wright (1993) received her doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer and is a certified Chiropractic Extremity Specialist.  She is currently the President and a Doctor at Wright Chiropractic Health Center. 

Keith Ballentine (1994) graduated from the University of Texas with masters in theoretical chemistry.  He is currently the lab manager at an environmental testing lab.

Lonnie Mark Hammonds (1994) graduated from the University of Texas Houston Medical School.  He is currently doing residency at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida in Dermatology.

Adam Smith (1994) is a manager at KPMG, and international accounting firm working in the audit/assurance practice.

Angela (Stahlecker) Roberson (1995) teaches Jr High & HS science at Cranfills Gap ISD.

Trina Geye (1996) received her master's in counseling psychology at Tarleton and her Ph.D. in educational psychology at Texas A&M University - Commerce .  She is currently the Director of Student Disability Services at Tarleton State and teaches Honors psychology.  In 2005, Trina was named the Distinguished Alumni of Tarleton.

Charles Manning (1996) and Dana (Harris) Manning (1997) were married.  They are both attending Texas Tech.  Charles in finishing is Ph.D. in Chemistry while Dana is starting her last year of Physical Therapy School.

Joelle (Naccache) Ogletree  (1996) received her master's in English at Tarleton.  She has taught English and French, but is currently staying at home with her two children. 

Julie Seifert (1996) completed her Masters in Mathematics at Texas A&M.  She is currently teaching high school math at Creekview HS in Carrollton-Farmers Branch.

Jylyce (Venable) Staples (1996) is enjoying being a stay-at-home mom.

Shannon (Pittman) Turner (1996) received her master's in information systems from Tarleton.  She is currently the director of instructional research and effectiveness at Howard Payne University and a certified tae bo fitness instructor.

Kristi (Slaughter) Boyd (1997) is a stay at home mom.

Robert Brown (1997) is working as a programmer for Guidestone Financial Services.

Nathan Lesley (1997) and Amber (Dawson) Lesley (1997) were married.  Nathan received his medical degree from Texas Tech Medical School.  He is currently working for FMC Technologies. Amber received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.  She is currently a Hospitalist for Texas Health Care.  Amber and Nathan were both elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (a national medical honors society).

Esther (Allen) White (1997) received her master's degree at Texas Woman's University and works for herself as a nutrition and fitness consultant.

Conan Gilliland (1997) is teaching junior high math at Hico ISD.

John Hughes (1998) is working on her Maters of Divinity at the Perkins School of Theology at SMU.  She is also the youth director in a North Dallas church.

Jason Mogonye (1998) received his medical degree at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in El Paso and is working at John Peter Smith Hospital.

Melinda (Squyres) Mullens (1998) is teaching at Midway ISD.

Emmeken Otte (1998) received her medical degree from Texas A&M.  She currently works for East Texas Community Health System, Inc.

Amanda Whisenant (1998) is currently teaching at Hill College.

Julie Allen (1999) is working at the Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette, AR.

Liana (Stone) Bramlett (1999) is running her own piano studio in Dallas for beginner through advanced students.

Trisha Geye (1999) received her master's in human resources from Tarleton and is working as an advancement services office for the development office at Tarleton.

Nikki (Harris) Groth (1999) is teaching fourth grade at Kaufman ISD in Kaufman, Texas.

Elizabeth (Bolden) Howe (1999) is teaching headstart in Dalhart.

Johnathan Jones (1999) received his master's in music theory and history from Penn State and is currently in the DMA program in piano pedagogy at the University of South Carolina.  He is teaching music and humanities at Isothermal Community College where he is also the choir director.

Mason Kuettel (1999) is teaching math at the ninth grade center in Weatherford and coaching girls volleyball and girls soccer.

Jennifer (Tucker) Lestico (1999) received her doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin and is working as a pharmacist at CVS.

Desiree Beauchamp (2000) received her master's degree in intercultural relations from the University of the Pacific.  She is currently teaching English language at the English for Life TESOL Certification and Language Academy in Greenville, South Carolina.

Krissy (Heinsen) Guess (2000) is Director of Logistics and Product Development with Litex industries.

Patty (Henley) Hernandez (2000) received her master's in agriculture education at Tarleton.  She is currently a logistics manager for FedEx SmartPost.

Sabina Landeros (2000) received her master's in education administration at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.  She is currently the dean of students and bilingual parental engagement coordinator for Mineral Wells ISD.

Jana (Farrill) Morrelli (2000) is working in group insurance sales at United Healthcare.

Melissa (Owens) Reasoner (2000) is doing optometric testing and marketing programs for Vision Source in Kerrville.  She also owns Mattress World of Kerrville.

Heather (Harris) Smith (2000) is teaching music at Early ISD.

Cheryl (Beeler) Stenmark (2000) and Evan Stenmark (2002) were married.  Cheryl received her master's and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma.  She is teaching at Angelo State.  Evan graduated with his master's from Oklahoma University.

Kelli (Gaither) Wakefield (2000) received her master's in geological sciences from Arizona State University.  She is currently teaching at Mesa Community College.

Kimberly (Oosten) Byford (2001) is working as an RN at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital.

Peggy (Neill) Cagle (2001) owns Cagle Photography with her husband.

Mackenzie Campbell-Furtick (2001) received her master's in biology at TSU and is currently working for JPS Health Network.

Amanda (Baulch) Johnson (2001) received her master's degree in English at the University of North Texas. 

Chase Kincannon (2001) is Vice President at MassMutual.  He also started a Texas County Outdoor Music Festival call Playin' The Field.

Erika (Dean) Peters (2001) is a stay at home mom.

Adelaide Odoteye (2002) is working for Davis, Kinard & Co., P.C. in Abilene doing taxes and audits.

Joseph Gilbert (2002) received his master's  in electrical engineering at Stanford.  He is currently a trader at Wolverine Trading.

Christina (Dobson) Golden (2002) is working on her master's in educational leadership and policy at the University of Texas at Arlington.  She is also the manager of teacher leadership development at Teach for America and an education conservation instructor for Dallas Zoo.

Kallen Hayes (2002) received her master's degree in public policy at the University of Minnesota.

Aeliya (Jafri) Jaffar (2002) received her PH.D. in pharmacy at the University of Houston. She is currently working as a pharmacist for Target.

Cassi (Rowland) Jones (2002) received her master's in vocal performance at Baylor.  She is also working as an adjunct voice instructor at Hill College and playing piano for the Western Heights Baptist Church.

Mica (Hassler) Parsons (2002) is teaching theatre, reading, and English at Henderson Jr. High in Stephenville.

Eileen Stock (2002) received a master's in mathematics at TSU, a master's in statistics at Baylor, and a Ph.D. in statistics at Baylor.  She is currently a research scientist at Scott & White Healthcare in Temple, TX.

Stephanie (Bumpas) Taylor (2002) received her master's in food science and nutrition from Texas Woman's University.  She is currently working as quality systems manager at McCormick & Co. in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Brandie (Allen) Wolfe (2002) is teaching at Springtown Middle School.

Kelly Anderson (2003) is working on a master's in social work at the University of Denver.

Ashley Burnham (2003) is the owner-operator of Smashely's.

Tara (Clary) Cully (2003) received her doctorate in dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center and her doctor of chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic.  She is currently the owner/chiropractor of Cully Family Chiropractic and the owner/dentist of Cully Family Dentistry.

Kellie Dodson (2003) received her doctorate of veterinary medicine at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and is working as an associate veterinarian at Grandview Veterinary Clinic in Odessa, TX.

Matthew Gilbert (2003) is working as an engineer at Lockheed Martin and working on a master's in electrical engineering at Stanford.

Marlow (Robitaille) Griggs (2003) received her medical degree from the Texas A&M College of Medicine and is working at Scott & White Memorial Hospital.

Megan (Williams) May (2003) received her master's in mathematics at Tarleton.  She is currently teaching math at Weatherford College.

Alyssa (Hardy) Motley (2003) is a zookeeper for the City of Dallas.

Stephen Myers (2003) received his Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Microsystems at the University of New Mexico. He is currently working as a process engineer at Vega Technology and Systems.

Amanda Odiorne (2003) is working Admin and Education at Huguley in Burleson, TX.

Hannah Scott (2003) is attending law school at the University of Montana and working at the S Ranch in Pryor Montana.

Marie Skaggs (2003) works as a neonatal travel nurse.

Heather (Gamblin) Thompson (2003) is a kindergarten teacher in Mineral Wells, TX.

Alyssa (Adkins) Tochterman (2003) received her master's in biological sciences at Tarleton and received her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine.  She is currently working as a resident physician at Texas Tech Univeristy Health Sciences Center.

Adrian Dunson (2004) is attending medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

Jessica Farrar (2004) received her master's in sociology at Baylor and is working on her Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Oregon.  She is also a child and adolescent treatment specialist at Trillium Family Services.

Cassie (Cox) Honolka (2004) is an Outdoor Education Specialist and Park Ranger at Ray Roberts Lake in Pilot Point.

Lindsay (Wright) Hope (2004) received her master's in public relations/advertising at Texas Christian University.  She is currently a lighthouse marketing associate for Yodle.

Jennifer (Dalecki) Kelly (2004) attended physical therapy school at UT Southwestern.

Maribeth (Miller) Kingsbury (2004) is an ELAR teacher for Crowley ISD.

Jennifer (Young) Kiser (2004) is working on master's in statistics at Texas A&M and working for Pioneer Natural Resources.

Amanda McWhirt (2004) received a master's degree in agronomy from Louisiana State University.  She is currently volunteering with the Peace Corps.

Amanda (Vineyard) Pogue (2004) received her graduate degree in clinical exercise physiology at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.  She is currently working at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Garrett Rosser (2004) is working for Ideal Impact, Inc.

Rachel (Howell) Thiel (2004) is credit risk analyst for GM Financial.

Trevin Vaughn (2004) and Melissa (Gilbert) Vaughn (2004) were married.  Trevin is a Project Coordinator for DCP Midstream.  Melissa graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and is working as a physician's assistant.

Elizabeth (Watson) Knauth (2004) and Neil Knauth (2004) were married.  Elizabeth received her master's in biological sciences from Texas Tech University and is now working for Aperture Science, Inc.

Joni (Clay) Abel (2005) is teaching reading and music at San Angelo Christian Academy.

Megan (Chrismon) Becker (2005) is teaching math and science to 1st through 4th grades and teaching music to 1st and 2nd grades.

Teresa Brevik (2005) is working as a special projects manager for the city of Bloomfield, NM.

Aileen (Blum) Farrar (2005) received her Ph.D. in literary studies at the Univeristy of Louisiana at Lafayette and is currently teaching there.

Kimberly Fehlis (2005) received her medical degree at the Texas A&M Health Science Center and is working as a pediatric resident physician.

Jedidiah Gohlke (2005) received a graduate degree from Texas Tech University and one in  computational and applied math at Rice University.  He is currently working for Palantir Solutions.

Rebecca (Garrett) Harris (2005) is working for Mountainview Web Design.

Jessica (Moorhouse) Hutchinson (2005) is a certified public accountant with Condley & Company, LLP.

Will Mayfield (2005) and Rachael (Crouch) Mayfield (2006) are married.  Will received his master's in English at Tarleton.  Rachael received her degree for physician's assistant at the University of North Texas Heath Science Center.

Laura (Long) Sumner (2005) is enjoying being a stay-at-home mom.

Laura (Clendennen) Wilcoxon (2005) received her master's in counseling psychology from TSU and is currently working for Cross Timbers Family Services.

Kevin Woller (2005) is attending graduate school at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and working as a research assistant.

Sarah (Barmore) Byrd (2006) is working on her graduate degree at Kansas State University and working as a graduate teaching assistant.

Crystal (Sims) Ceynowa (2006) is working in website development and marketing for the Buttery Company.

Zane Christian (2006) is a financial advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors.

Lydia Colvin (2006) is working on her Master of Divinity at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Amanda Couch (2006) received her master's in geology at Texas Christian University.  She is currently working for BC&I.

Daniel Lipford (2006) teaches English at Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education in Daejeon, Korea.

Rebecca (Frazier) Puckett (2006) is working at IQNavigator.

Ashley (Dalrymple) Randolph (2006) is working as an auditor at BMY.

Elizabeth (Nabors) Taylor (2006) is teaching special education at Weatherford ISD.

Sarah (Wells) Warren (2006) is enjoying being a stay-at-home mom.

Kaylie Carrico (2007) works for Federal Way Public  Schools AmeriCorps and volunteers in Service to America.

Luisa Cossio Van Marweijk (2007) is working on her master's in spanish at Texas State University and working as a GTA.

Lauren Darling (2007) is teaching history at DeSoto East Middle School.

Olivia Frederich (2007) is working at Master Halco.

Douglas Knauth (2007) is working at Archuleta Law Firm.

Aubrey Lindberg (2007) is teaching world geography and coaching cross country and track at Floresville ISD.

Jillian (Dean) McAngus (2007) is working on her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX.

Brittany (Morrow) McLelland (2007) is working on her Pd.D. in school psychology at the University of Houston and working as a teaching assistant.

James Peiskee (2007) received his master's in mathematics at Tarleton and is currently at Texas A&M University.

Jackie Reynolds (2007) received his master's in economics at the University of Texas at Arlington and is currently working on his doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies.  He is also an adjunct professor for Navarro College.

Rijo Santhosh (2007) is working on his graduate degree at the University of Houston.

Sarah (Martin) Swofford (2007) received her master's in counseling at the University of North Texas.  She is currently working as an LPC at Lifeview Counseling.

Julie Vrazel (2007) received her master's in agricultural and consumer resources at Tarleton.  She is currently working as assistant editor at Texas Farm Bureau.

Jessica Woodard (2007) is teaching geography, history, and government/economics and coaching tennis at Keene High School.

Caroline Cavin (2008) received her master's degree in psychology at the University of Texas in Arlington.

Caitlyn Cooper (2008) is working as a graduate assistant at Texan A&M while working on her graduate degree in agronomy and crop science.

JD Crow (2008) is working on his medical degree at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Justin Highland (2008) is working as an engineer at Casedhole Solutions, Inc.

Shayla (Priddy) Hoffman (2008) received her master's in mathematics at Tarleton.  She is currently teaching at Glen Rose ISD.

Diedre (Daniel) Lewis (2008) received her master's in ag and consumer resources at Tarleton and is currently working at a transcript analyst.

Ashlee Noblin (2008) received her master's in management and leadership at Tarleton State University and is currently an outreach specialist at the Midlothian higher education center at Navarro College.

Rachel Offutt (2008) is working at Nordstrom.

Ailia (Hook) Oliver (2008) is working as a microbiologist for Allergan.

Angela Reppa (2008) is working for Frontier Airlines.

Natalie Rose (2008) is working on her graduate degree in clarinet pedagogy at Texas Woman's University and gives private lessons.

Melissa Rose (2008) is working on her master's in English at Tarleton and working as a graduate assistant for the English department.

TraeAnn Schlemmer (2008) received her master's in agriculture with an emphasis in economics at Tarleton.  She is currently working as an adjunct professor at TSU.

Stephen Seymour (2008) is working on his graduate degree at Baylor University and working as a graduate assistant.

Amber Ward (2008) is working as an office coordinator at Angelo State University.

Sarah Zeisler (2008) is working on her graduate degree at the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and working as a vet tech for Lucas Veterinary Hospital.

Ryan Cheek (2009) is a senior account executive at Lanyon Inc.

Thomas Frazier (2009) teaches 7th grade math at Godley ISD.

Emryse Geye (2009) is working on her graduate degree in organic chemistry at the University of Northern Colorado and working as a graduate assistant.

Jeffrey Hanna (2009) joined the United States Army.

Anthony Linder (2009) is working as an educational leadership consultant at Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

Sarah Mays (2009) is working on her graduate degree in entomology and plan pathology at the University of Tennessee.

Tracy Hughes (2010) is working on her graduate degree at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and working as a vet tech at Robertson County Veterinary Services.

Lauren Light (2010) is working as an annual fund coordinator at Stephen F Austin State University.

Shelby Nix (2010) is attending Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.

Travis Salzillo (2010) is working on his graduate degree in medical physics at the University of Texas MD Anderson cancer center and working for the National Superconducting Cyclotron Lab.

Natalie Stringer (2010) is working on her master's in English at Tarleton.

Ian Troub (2010) is working on his master's degree at Arkansas Tech University and is the resident director.

Jacob White (2010) is working as a research technician at Texas A&M Institute of Renewable and Natural Resources.

Shelbie Bradley (2011) is working as a field director for DeWayne Burns for State Representative.
