May 2012 Commencement Ceremony Information

The commencement ceremony for all undergraduate and graduate students at Tarleton State University, will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Memorial Stadium.  For directions and maps, please visit www.tarleton.edu/campus.

All graduation candidates should arrive at Memorial Stadium one hour prior to the beginning of the ceremony for check-in. Check-in will be at the Concession Stand located at the north end of the stadium where candidates will receive a name card that they will hand to the announcer as they cross the stage.

All students are required to remain seated until the ceremony has concluded. Once the ceremony has completed, students will be allowed to leave.

Dress appropriately for the commencement ceremony.  We ask ladies PLEASE NO HEELS to prevent damage to the artificial turf. (Wedges are acceptable)

Tickets:  No tickets are ncessary.  Seating is first come, first served.

Cap and Gown Information

  • Candidates who plan to attend the ceremony need to pick up their cap and gown at the Campus Store.  The university will not be responsible for expenses incurred in the ordering of cap and gown or invitations.
  • Candidates may contact the Campus Store at 254-968-9007 or visit their website to order their cap and gown and university invitations.

August 2012 Commencement Ceremony

Online graduation application available beginning April 2, 2012 for August 2012 graduation.

Graduation applications for August 2012 commencement will be accepted from April 2, 2012- June 4, 2012 by 11:59 PM to ensure participation in the graduation ceremony.  This application will be submitted online through student self service in myGateway.  Candidates who apply by this deadline will be able to "walk"/participate in the August 2012 graduation ceremony. 

Students that do not submit an application by the June 4, 2012, 11:59 PM deadline will not be allowed to participate in the commencement ceremony.  Students may still apply for conferral only (cannot participate in the ceremony) from June 4, 2012-August 6, 2012.  Students that do not apply for graduation will not be awarded a degree.  A graduation application fee of $35 will be applied at application time.

December 2012 Commencement Ceremony

Students that do not submit an application by the August 26, 2012, 11:59 PM deadline will not be allowed to participate in the commencement ceremony. Students may still apply for conferral only (cannot participate in the ceremony) from August 26, 2012-December 10, 2012. Students that do not apply for graduation will not be awarded a degree. A graduation application fee of $35 will be applied at application time.
