Master's Hooding Ceremony


All Master’s Degree Candidates Graduating August 2009

 

The College of Graduate Studies and The Colleges of Agriculture and Human Sciences; Business Administration; Education; Liberal and Fine Arts, and Science and Technology formally invite you to participate in a College Hooding Ceremony honoring your achievement, that of earning your master’s degree from Tarleton State University.
(This is a separate event scheduled prior to the official Commencement Ceremony)
  • Hooding Ceremony Details:

The Ceremony will be held on campus in the Wisdom Gymnasium, Friday, August 14, 2009 at 7:00 PM.  Participating students will need to report to the small volleyball gym for check-in no later than 6:30 PM.

Bring all regalia including your master’s hood.  The ceremony will be conducted on the stage and your Committee Advisor or Thesis Chair will participate and officially hood you.  This is a time-honored tradition to signify your advancement in academic standing.  Please invite family and friends to attend if you desire to have them present.

Remember, this is not the Commencement Ceremony.  It is a separate opportunity to honor your academic achievement. 

  • Commencement Ceremony Details:

At Commencement you will wear your regalia complete with academic hood in the Ceremonies at 9:00 AM or 11:30 AM in Wisdom Gym on Saturday, August 15.  At this ceremony your degree will be conferred by the University President, Dr. Dominic Dottavio.
Official Commencement Ceremonies will be held Saturday, August 15, 2009.  The first ceremony that morning will be at 9:00 A.M. in Wisdom Gymnasium for the Colleges of Agriculture and Human Sciences, Liberal and Fine Arts and Science and Technology.
The second ceremony will be at 11:30 A.M. for the College of Education and the College of Business.
