Directions:

Our address is 65258 Interstate 20 Mingus, Texas 76463.

From Dallas/Fort Worth: We are about an hour west of Fort Worth. Exit 367 (Thurber/Mingus) on Interstate 20. Turn left under the under pass and take another left onto the service road. The center will be on your left.

From Abilene: We are about an hour east of Abilene. Exit 367 (Thurber/Mingus) on Interstate 20. Continue of the service road. The center will be on your right.

From Stephenville: We are about half an hour north. Travel on 108 North. Turn left at the first stop sign and travel 3 miles on Interstate 20 service road.

Adults 12 & Older: $4.00

Children 5-12 yrs old: $2.00

Children 5 & Under: Free

For Group Reservations:

Would like to schedule a large group tour, more than 25 people, through the W.K. Gordon Center?

Groups should schedule 1 to 1 ½ hours for a visit. Tours are available during operating hours. Once you have a date in mind, please notify us as early as possible. Please notify us no later than two weeks prior to the planned visit date. Admission prices are $4 for adults and $2 for children. Cash, check and credit cards are all acceptable forms of payment. The Gordon Center is fully disabled accessible. Drive through bus parking is available. For large group tour reservations, please contact 254-968-1886 or giffin@tarleton.edu.

Please consider the W.K. Gordon Center facility for your upcoming event. Are you planning a retreat, family reunion, workshop, etc.?

We have the following spaces available:

Temporary Exhibits Gallery: 36.5’ X 35’ (832 sq. ft)

Main Exhibit Gallery: 3713 sq. ft

Outside areas including parking lot

New York Hill Restaurant
Sits atop historic New York Hill overlooking the town site of Thurber with sweeping views of Palo Pinto and Erath counties. Home-cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner, open daily.

The Smokestack Restaurant
Located directly across I-20 from the Gordon Center. It is located next to the original Thurber brick smokestack and inside the last remaining Thurber-brick building in downtown Thurber. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

BJ's Restaurant
Located north of Thurber, about 2 miles north of I-20 on Hwy 108 in Mingus.  Family restaurant known for its pizza and subs. Also has a bar, pool tables, and arcade games. Open after 4pm, Tuesday - Sunday.

Mary's Cafe
Located a little west of Thurber and north a few miles on Hwy 16 in Strawn. Famous for chicken fried steaks.
