TMATE (Teacher Certification)
Program Description
Tarleton Model for Accelerated Teacher Education - TMATE - has been in existence since 1986, with more than 2000 persons having earned their teaching credentials through this innovative program. TMATE is specially designed for adults who have previously earned their bachelor's degree and who now seek to make a career transition into the teaching profession. The TMATE program, which requires one year for completion, is organized into two phases: pre-internship and internship. The pre-internship courses are taken during the summer with the Internship phase, beginning at the start of the school year and extending through the fall and spring semesters.
