Hazlewood Exemption

The Hazlewood Act is a State of Texas benefit that provides qualified Veterans, spouses, and dependent children with an education benefit of up to 150 hours of tuition exemption, including most fee charges at public institutions of higher education in Texas.  This does not include living expenses, books, or supply fees.  Veterans who wish to apply for Hazelwood benefits as new or previous recipients OR to request their unused hours to be transferred to an eligible child should complete the application packet available in the Student Financial Aid Office or online.  First time applicants will need to submit the packet, the DD214, the Letter from Muskogee and a letter stating the number of hours used.  A student will need to renew the application each subsequent semester by submitting the packet and Letter stating the number of hours used.
