10 steps to Hassle-free Financial Aid

  1. Do complete the 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid using completed 2012 tax returns.  Using estimated taxes will slow your financial aid processing down considerably. 

  2. Do list Tarleton's School Code 003631 on the Application for Federal Student Aid. 

  3. Do have all required financial Aid forms and requested information into the Tarleton State University Financial Aid Office by the deadlines. 

  4. Do read and respond promptly to any information received from the Financial Aid Office. 

  5. Do request loan funds be sent to Tarleton State University by electronic funds transfer. 

  6. Do complete Entrance Counseling/Debt Management by Internet if you are applying for a student loan. 

  7. Do pre-register at your scheduled time or at least 30 days prior to the beginning of each semester for which you have applied for financial aid. 

  8. Do enroll in at least six hours each semester for which you apply for financial aid and meet satisfactory academic progress (see catalog). 

  9. Do consult the Financial Aid Office if you are an undergraduate student and plan to drop below twelve (12) hours. 

  10. Do keep your grade mailing address up-to-date with the Registrar's Office.
