Deadlines

Do not wait until the deadline day to submit your application. No late applications will be accepted. There are three application periods per year: Spring, Summer, and Fall. Applications can be turned into Suite 101 in the Math Building.

If the deadline falls on a weekend or a day that the Tarleton is closed, applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., on the next day Tarleton is open following the deadline.

Steps to Apply

For Interdisciplinary Studies / Elementary: EC-6, 4-8, Special Education

  1. Fill out Interdisciplinary Studies – Request for Degree Evaluation, Certificate Plan, and Updated Degree Plan (on page 2). Turn this form in to the Administrative Assistant in Room 320 of the Education Building before the deadline.
  2. Stephenville based students – Watch for signs in the Education Building with instructions on how to sign up for the departmental screening.
    Fort Worth and Waco based students – Contact your advisors to obtain the information as to how to sign up for the departmental screening.
  3. Make an appointment with your advisor.
  4. Complete the rest of the pages in the application. The Curriculum & Instruction Departmental Checklist is turned in at your Departmental Screening Interview.
  5. When you meet with your advisor, make sure you obtain a signed checklist and certificate plan acknowledgement/responsibility form.
  6. Bring your completed application packet to Room 101 of the Math Building. Please do not wait until the deadline day. If you are at the Fort Worth or Waco location, please check with your advisor for instructions on where to submit early to have them mailed to the Stephenville campus before the deadline.

Review your certificate plan.

For Secondary/All Level: 6-12, 7-12, 8-12, All Level Art, Music, PE, Spanish

  1. Make an appointment with your advisor and make any necessary arrangements to complete the departmental screening.
  2. Complete the Secondary / All-Level Application packet.
  3. Print out your unofficial transcript or Degree Evaluation from myGateway and use it to complete your certificate plan.
  4. When you meet with your advisor, make sure your advisor signs your checklist and certificate plan, completes the verification of successful completion of departmental screening form or makes arrangements to complete it at a later date, and completes any necessary substitution forms.
  5. Bring your completed application, certificate plan, transcript, and departmental screening form to Room 101 of the Math Building. Please do not wait until the deadline day.

Important Reminders

  • The official channel for University communication is a student's go.tarleton.edu email account. Students should expect all correspondence to be conducted through this method.
  • Beginning with Summer 2017 applications, students admitted into the Teacher Education Program will be charged a $55 TEA ASEP Technology Fee in addition to the $35 application fee. The application fee is charged each time a student makes application; the technology fee is only charged at the point of admission.
