The M.A. program has recently produced graduates who have gone on to teach at Howard Payne University, Weatherford College, and the University of Montana-Billings as well as Tarleton State University. Several graduates also teach in secondary schools in Texas or serve in the business community as technical writers. Graduate students have presented papers at the Conference of College Teachers of English, the Hardin-Simmons National Symposium on the Role of Women, the South Central Modern Language Association Conference, and the South Central Writing Centers Association Conference. Articles written by Tarleton State University graduate students appear in CCTE and in the Selected Papers from Hardin-Simmons National Symposium on the Role of Women.
Where Are They Now?
- Paula Kent is currently in the PhD program at North Texas University.
- Kalene Westmoreland (formerly Weathermon) received her PhD from Louisiana State University and is currently an instructor of English at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa
- Diana LeFerve is a tenured Assistant Professor of English at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois.
