Educational Leadership and Policy Studies

The Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies is committed to providing exciting and challenging ways to develop bright new leaders in the field of educational administration.

We offer master’s, doctoral, and principal and superintendent certification programs that are tailored to meet the needs of busy professionals seeking to make a difference in the classroom, at the campus level, at the district level, and in institutions of higher education.

The Master of Education in Educational Administration (with optional Principal Certification) prepares students for careers in school leadership entirely online.

The Doctor of Education (EdD) program develops leaders for careers in K-12 or higher education settings. Course delivery blends face-to-face instruction with the convenience of online. Doctoral students complete the core coursework together with a cohort of students, a model which research suggests may lead to greater completion rates.

The Superintendent Certification program is designed to prepare district-level leaders via a unique executive-style program that combines online learning with interactive face-to-face sessions that coincide with statewide events scheduled by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA).

The Principal Certification program is designed to prepare campus-level leaders that already hold a Master’s degree. Students can choose to complete the program online or via course work that blends face-to-face and online instruction.
