•  organize information,
•  locate additional items, and
•  request notification when specific items are available.

Links to the left of an item's record offer several useful features. These features, which are boxed in red in the image below, are explained beneath the image.

•  Keep: adds items to a "Kept" folder (discussed in the next section) for future reference
•  Place Hold: lets users request notification when a checked out item is returned to the library
•  Items with the same Author: retrieves a list of items written by the author of the selected record
•  Items with the same Subject: retrieves a list of items with the same Library of Congress subject terms as the selected record
•  Items on the same shelf: retrieves a list of items with Library of Congress call numbers similar to the selected record

•  Library Info:
-- Evaluate ilink lets users submit evaluations of the catalog.
-- Ask a Librarian gives access to email and virtual reference assistance.
-- Forgot your PIN? lets a user request a new personal account PIN.
-- Hours links to a list of library hours.
-- Staff links to the library staff directory and contact information.
•  Logout: closes the catalog session and links back to the libraries' homepage
•  I Need Material: links to forms so users can request interlibrary loan items and suggest purchases
•  Databases: offers links to the libraries' databases page and lists of online reference works
•  Reserve Desk: accesses a search interface for locating course reserves materials using an instructor's name, a course number, or a course name
•  My Account: links to the patron's personal account to review accounts, renew materials, check fines, etc.
      user ID=social security number +zero (for example XXXXXXXXX0)
      PIN = changeme
      The PIN can be changed after login.

•  Ask Us: links to contact information for library departments and to information about getting help with specific questions (reference, circulation, connecting from home, etc.)
•  Kept: links to the "Kept" folder, which lists titles from search results that were marked for future reference. These items can be sorted by author, title, or call number. Users can also also view, save, e-mail, or print the items' records.
