Comprehensive Exam

Students in the Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management must take a comprehensive examination to successfully complete the program. The exam will cover theory and concepts and the application of theory and concepts in business situations. The purpose of the comprehensive exam is to evaluate the student's mastery of the functional areas of human resource management. Through a variety of activities, the chapter provides professional development, leadership and scholarship opportunities, as well as social and civic participative events.

Since 2009, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged that Tarleton's MS in Human Resource Management program has had continuous alignment with SHRM's Human Resource Curriculum Guidebook and Templates. Throughout the world, only 421 programs at just 319 institutions have been acknowledged by SHRM has being in alignment with its suggested curriculum guidelines.
