Dr. Carol Thompson


Dr. Thompson teaches a number of undergraduate and graduate courses in Geology, Earth Science, and Environmental Science. She has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Geology from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a PhD (hydrogeology specialization) from the University of Iowa. She is program coordinator for the graduate Environmental Science Program.

Dr. Thompson's research iterests include wetland hydrology, non-point pollution, and water supply protection. She has a background in state government having worked for 17 years at the Iowa Geological Survey. Dr. Thompson is an member of the Society of Wetland Scientists, the Anerican Water Resources Association, the Geological Society of America, Texas Academy of Science, National Groundwater Association, and the Natural Areas Association.
