AITP is the Association of Information Technology Professionals and the Tarleton State University student chapter is focused on preparing students for a professional career in the IT field and giving them an opportunity to find careers.
Participating in the organization will build your responsibility values and better prepare you for the job force outside of college. Also by going to AITP professional conferences you will get a better look into the IT world and be able to ask questions to real IT professionals. having this organization on your resume when hunting for jobs will also help you in getting the job.
AITP membership entitles you to:
- Networking opportunities with peers via national and chapter events
- Latest developments on IT conferences, research developments, breaking news, advocacy efforts, vendor solutions, RFPs, and career opportunities.
- Local chapters and regional affiliations
- Access to student webserver
Regional and National Collegiate Conferences:
The regional conference will be held in the fall semester and will consist of all region 3 colleges competing in various IT events. The national conference will be held in the spring semester and will consist of all regions competing in various IT related competitions. These conferences will not only have contest that show your IT skills but they also have programs that give information on new developments and improvements in the IT world. There is also a job fair with many IT employers looking to hire college students.
Individual students whose degree major is consistent with their desire to enter IT field shall be eligible to become student members of the association.
