CTC/Tarleton-Central Texas Libraries – Killeen
CTC/Tarleton-Central Texas Libraries – Killeen is the library for Tarleton State University - Central Texas in Killeen. On September 1, 1999, Tarleton State University absorbed the resources of the previous University of Central Texas, which was founded in 1973. This library is now a division of the Dick Smith Library with access to all materials and databases. Tarleton Library – Central Texas shares a building, books, journals and computer resources with the Oveta Culp Hobby Memorial Library at Central Texas College.
As a separately located division with a diverse student body, Tarleton Library – Central Texas purchases its own books and journals following collection development, acquisitions, and cataloging guidelines established for both libraries.
The Oveta Culp Hobby Memorial Library Catalog lists the holdings of both Tarleton Library – Central Texas and Central Texas College. Books owned by the Tarleton Library – Central Texas are also listed in the Tarleton Libraries Catalog. Use the Division Exchange Service (now part of ILLiad and Borrow From Other Libraries) to request materials between the two campuses.
The Library provides its own circulation, interlibrary loan, and reserve services; answers reference questions from students and faculty; and provides library instruction for the students at the Tarleton Center and Tarleton classes conducted at Fort Hood.
