Student Organizations

While academic success is priority-one, participation in a student organization(s) can add an important dimension to the college experience. Student organizations provide opportunities for development in the areas of leadership, personal management, collaboration, supervision, organization, communication, networking, event planning and relationship development. Tarleton students can select from over 120 student organizations to enhance their college experience.

Student Programming Association

Student Programming Association (SPA) provides a variety of programs and activities for the university campus and surrounding communities. Students learn leadership and interpersonal skills by planning and implementing educational, cultural, recreational and entertainment programs.

Orientation

The Texan Orientation Conferences provide new students with their first taste of the Tarleton Experience. The conferences will acquaint new students with their new academic and social environment. They will connect with their peers, upperclassmen, faculty and staff through a variety of activities and settings.

Texan-2-Texan

Texan-2-Texan is a freshman program designed to prepare students for successful transition into Tarleton State University both academically and socially. Texan-2-Texan is held each August prior to the beginning of the fall semester. Participants learn about and engage in the university’s long-standing traditions, embrace the concepts of civility, integrity and diversity, meet and interact with student organizations, and participate in a special freshman convocation and candle lighting ceremony. Upperclassmen have the opportunity to serve as advisors and assist with all aspects of the Texan-2-Texan program.
