From the beginnings to 1865. A critical survey of major writers and movements with emphasis upon such representative authors as Poe, Emerson, Hawthorne, Thoreau, Dickinson, and Melville.

ENGL 111: Introduction to College Composition

ENGL 112: College Composition and Research
and 6 hours sophomore ENGL.
