150 HOUR CPA CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
For those students preparing to become certified public accountants, the Public Accountancy Act of 1991 requires that applicants must have completed at least a baccalaureate degree and not fewer than 150 semester credit hours of recognized courses. Courses included in the BBA or BS degree program in Accounting are accepted toward this requirement. For the remainder of the 150 semester hours, students may complete the MBA or other master’s program as described in the graduate section of the catalog. However, if a student does not wish to take graduate courses, they can meet the requirements to sit for the CPA exam by taking additional undergraduate courses to reach the minimum of 150 hours of credit.
