OBTAINING A TEACHING CERTIFICATE

The Certification Officer must verify the following before a student will be recommended for certification online:

  1. Degree earned;

  2. Passing scores on each portion of the THEA test;

  3. Passing scores on all ExCET/TExES test required for initial certification;

  4. Completion of all course work on certification plan;

  5. Written documentation and advisor approval for course substitutions; and 

  6. Minimum 2.6 GPA in required areas on certificate plan and a minimum 2.6 GPA overall on certificate plan.
