Percussion Ensemble

The Tarleton State University Percussion Ensembles are offered in both fall and spring semesters and are under the direction of Associate Professor of Music Dr. Ben Charles. The Tarleton State University Percussion Program is comprised of four groups.

  • The Percussion Ensemble meets in both fall and spring semesters and performs a varied repertoire ranging from chamber music to large percussion orchestral works.
  • PANdemonium is the Tarleton State University Steel Band. This ensemble is embedded within the Percussion Ensemble and often performs at University Percussion Ensemble Concerts. PANdemonium also performs frequently at Tarleton State University functions and off-campus events.
  • The World Percussion Ensemble is also embedded within the Percussion Ensemble. This ensemble performs music from all over the world, focusing primarily on the music of Latin America and Africa.
  • The Tarleton State University Drumline is embedded within The Sound and The Fury, the Texan Marching Band. In addition to performing with the The Sound and The Fury, the drumline frequently performs at the Purple Out Picnic, Midnight Madness, and Tarleton State University Athletic Events.
