DR. Dmitry Perevertailenko

DR. DMITRY PEREVERTAILENKO will join the Tarleton Music faculty as Assistant Professor of Music. He has performed throughout the United States and Europe. He performed the Copland Clarinet Concerto with the Kharkiv Municipal Orchestra and the North Texas Symphony Orchestra. From 2004 to 2007, he was principal clarinetist with the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra. Perevertailenko has won multiple competitions including the International Competition for the 50th Anniversary of Israel (Moscow, 1999) and the University of North Texas Concerto Competition (2006).

Prior to his position at SHSU, Perevertailenko was the clarinet and saxophone instructor at the Music Place and Arts Conservatory (Mansfield, TX) and for the Denton Independent School District. He also held a Development Associate position with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (2008-2009).

Perevertailenko began playing the clarinet at age 10. At the age of 17, he was admitted to the Moscow State Conservatorie, where he obtained the Higher Education Diploma. Perevertailenko completed the Master of Music at Sam Houston State University and the Doctor of Musical Arts in clarinet performance at the University of North Texas. His major teachers include Valeri Altukhov, Raphael Bagdasaryan, Patricia Card and John Scott.
