Fall 2008 Student Teachers
Here is the Fall 2008 class of Tarleton State University student teachers. Please feel free to browse their resumes and contact them if you see they will fit your agricultural science program needs.

RONI CROW : From the very first time she stepped into an agriculturally-oriented classroom, she knew that was what she wanted to do with her life. She is a second generation educator, and has been instilled with an enormous passion for working with children. Along with her agricultural education degree, she has earned a minor in animal science. Roni is very driven by the needs of the people around her, which makes her very approachable and a cooperative teacher and colleague. She has held several leadership positions in college, including being a freshman orientation advisor, which has given her the necessary skills to relate to the parents of the students with whom she works. She is a natural born leader with a compassionate heart, a highly optimistic mindset, and is thrilled about beginning her future in agriculture.

DEREK DUNLAP: His work ethic, patience, and enthusiasm for teaching are exhibited through hands-on and cooperative learning activities for his students in the classroom, as well as in the laboratory. He was raised on a farm, and he is well versed in many areas in agriculture. Derek has first-hand experience with leadership through the FFA after being a member of many Career Development and Leadership Development Event teams, as well as serving as State Vice-President. He is very eager to begin his career as an agricultural educator.

HEATHER JONES :Ms. Jones is eager to begin her career as an agricultural educator. Through her experiences at Tarleton State University she has expanded her knowledge not only in agricultural areas, but also in education. She is able to motivate students and has a strong work ethic. She believes the classroom should be a learning environment and foster an atmosphere of growth. Heather was involved in her high school FFA chapter in many areas including exhibiting livestock, leadership camps, and many Career Development and Leadership Development Events. Through her experiences, she has learned leadership, responsibility and organizational skills. She has also come to realize the importance of preparation, planning, and utilizing all available resources in order to assure her students the best learning experience possible.

MICHELE MCLAUGHLIN: Ms. McLaughlin is a passionate agricultural educator who exhibits leadership, patience, and determination when teaching. She considers herself not just an agricultural educator, but a facilitator of learning. She believes that each student involved in agricultural science and technology courses should participate in the National FFA Organization to gain knowledge about the industry and acquire superior leadership qualities. Ms. McLaughlin believes each student should be engaged in a supervised agricultural experience to gain experience in agriculture, hands-on application of agriculture, and a sense of pride in oneself. As Ms. McLaughlin nears graduation from Tarleton State University, she is eager to embark on her journey as an agricultural educator.

WENDI SNIDER: Ms. Snider is very excited and eager about beginning her career in agricultural education. She believes that, through hands-on experiences, every child may gain not only knowledge but share the passion that she holds for agriculture. She believes that, as an FFA advisor, one should guide students in a way where self learning takes place. Ms.Snider exhibits kindness, enthusiasm and caring toward all students and encourages them to learn by doing.

ROGER TROTTER: Roger Trotter is excited about being a facilitator of young people in agricultural classes. He has been a leader in several areas outside of education, as well as through experience teaching in Conservation and Water Utilization, Agriculture Mechanical Services and Instruction, and Agriculture Mechanical Services laboratories at Tarleton State University. Mr. Trotter has a minor in animal science and is very interested in agricultural mechanics, along with Career Development and Leadership Development Events. Mr. Trotter will earn his master of science degree in agricultural education with an emphasis in adult teaching and learning styles in December 2008.
