The Tarleton State University Meat Lab is a state inspected meat processing facility situated within the confines of the TSU Agriculture Production Complex. A facility that is operated largely by undergraduate student workers, the meat lab provides the clientele of Erath and surrounding counties an avenue for custom slaughter and specialty meat items through retail sales. Students attending TSU enrich their campus experience through class participation of numerous COAES and University classes. These experiences merge the classroom with the expectations of future employers by allowing the students to gain an in-depth appraisal of methods used in almost every agricultural career. Networking, research/ industry techniques, and leadership are just a few of the approaches that instructors at the TSU Meat Lab and Animal Science Department utilize in preparing the student of Tarleton for the future.
