Department of Marketing & Communications
The Department of Marketing & Communications develops marketing strategies and tactics to build awareness and create interest in Tarleton. As part of a planned branding and marketing program, Marketing & Communications also can integrate marketing and communications strategies for individual colleges, departments and programs. Through bundling, we sometimes are able to achieve cost savings while creating greater image impact. We can design your advertisement/marketing projects and provide guidance on placement. We will ensure that messages both reflect the university’s overall marketing strategies and are effective in reaching Tarleton constituencies.
From brochures and pamphlets to journals and anthologies, the Office of Creative Services is available to help produce campus publications. We can transform your text and visuals into professionally designed print and electronic publications. We can also assist in the competitive bid print purchasing process and provide direction for presenting your message in print. Creative Services also manages Tarleton's official social media accounts and disseminates policies and guidelines for departmental and organizational social media accounts.
The Office of Media Relations work to promote and communicate Tarleton’s mission to both internal and external audiences through methods such as Web site postings, press releases, media pitches, the maintenance of an experts list and the management of interview requests. Our goal is to showcase Tarleton and to inform local, state and national audiences about our fantastic faculty, outstanding educational programs, innovative research projects and magnificent events that occur on our campus. In general, news releases are intended to publicize 1) honors or achievements by faculty, staff or students 2) programs that are open to the public or of significant interest to the entire Tarleton community, i.e., faculty, staff and students 3) news, programs, events or efforts that would in some way be of interest to those outside Tarleton.
The Office of Video Services creates video programs to promote and enhance the vision of Tarleton State University and its departments. We also write, or assist in the process of writing, scripts, storyboards, and graphic information for programming, capture video footage from events and activities, create or assist in production of animations and graphics, edit and composite the elements of a program, and facilitate the production and streaming of select events to internet portals.
The Office of Web Services creates and maintains the design, infrastructure, and marketing strategy for the university website. Web Services utilizes Cascade Server as the university’s web content management system and provides full Cascade support, as well as individual training sessions. Web Services consults with departments and organizations to enhance their web presence or construct a new site. The mission of Web Services is to support the goals of the university by providing an informative and inviting web presence to prospective students as well as current students, faculty, and staff.
