Committee Member Responsibilities

Committee Chair Responsibilities
  • Plan committee meetings
  • Organize committee training and activities
  • Serve as assessment consultant for committee members
  • Keep Provost and Associate Vice President for Assessment, Curriculum and Outreach informed of committee activities and plans
  • Report committee progress to Associate Vice President for Assessment, Curriculum and Outreach
Academic-Support Coordinator Responsibilities
  • Serve as liaison with specifically assigned constituents
  • Serve as assessment resource person for assigned constituents
  • Assure that assigned constituents are kept up to date on assessment activities, procedure, and schedules
  • Provide assessment training and support for assigned constituents
  • Review all assessment plans for assigned constituents
Special-Project Coordinator Responsibilities
  • Complete special projects as needed/assigned
  • Need for these members will be evaluated annually, with one-year appointments based on high-need situations; appointments may be renewed only once and only if continued need is demonstrated
  • Appointments made by Tarleton State University’s Vice President for Assessment, in consultation with the Provost and respective academic Dean(s)
Central Texas Coordinator Responsibilities
  • Serve as assessment resource person for the Central Texas campus
  • Provide assessment training and support for the Central Texas campus
  • Review all plans for student-learning objectives and measures for the Central Texas campus
  • Review all plans for administrative/departmental objectives and measures for the Central Texas campus
College Coordinator Responsibilities
  • Serve as assessment resource person for the college
  • Provide assessment training and support within the college
  • Review all plans for student-learning objectives and measures within college
  • Review all plans for student-learning objectives and measures within one other college, as assigned
Department-Head Representative Responsibilities
  • Serve as liaison with dean and other department chairs within the college
  • Assure dean and department chairs within the college are kept up to date on assessment activities, procedure, and schedules
  • Review all plans for departmental/administrative objectives and measures within college
  • Review all plans for departmental/administrative objectives and measures within one other college, as assigned
