Committee Member Responsibilities

Committee Chair Responsibilities
- Plan committee meetings
- Organize committee training and activities
- Serve as assessment consultant for committee members
- Keep Provost and Associate Vice President for Assessment, Curriculum and Outreach informed of committee activities and plans
- Report committee progress to Associate Vice President for Assessment, Curriculum and Outreach
Academic-Support Coordinator Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison with specifically assigned constituents within Academic Affairs
- Serve as assessment/evaluation resource person for assigned constituents, including General Education
- Assure that assigned constituents are kept up to date on assessment/evaluation activities, procedure, and schedules
- Provide assessment/evaluation training and support for assigned constituents
- Review annual plans for academic assessment/evaluation for all assigned constituent
Department-Head Coordinator Responsibilities
- Assure dean and department heads within the college are kept up to date regarding assessment and evaluation activities, procedures, and schedules
- Serve as liaison with dean and other department heads within the college
- Serve as resource person for budget-unit evaluation in the college
- Provide budget-unit evaluation training and coaching within the college
- Review all plans for annual budget-unit evaluation plans within college
- Review all plans for annual budget-unit evaluation plans within one other college, as assigned
- Review and report compliance regarding evaluation activities, procedures, and schedules for all budget units within the college
- Serve as liaison with dean and other department heads within the college
- Assure dean and department heads within the college are kept up to date on assessment and evaluation activities, procedures, and schedules
- Review all plans for annual budget-unit evaluation plans within college
- Review all plans for annual budget-unit evaluation plans within one other college, as assigned
- Review and report compliance regarding evaluation activities, procedures, and schedules for all budget-units within the college
College-Faculty Coordinator Responsibilities
- Assure academic-program faculty within the college are kept up to date regarding assessment and evaluation activities, procedures, and schedules
- Serve as liaison with academic-program faculty within the college
- Serve as resource person for academic-program assessment in the college
- Provide academic-program assessment training and coaching within the college
- Review all plans for annual academic-program assessment within the college
- Review all plans for annual academic-program assessment within one other college, as assigned
- Review and report compliance regarding assessment activities, procedures, and schedules for all academic programs within the college
Special-Project Coordinator Responsibilities
- Complete special projects as needed/assigned
- Need for these members will be evaluated annually, with one-year appointments based on high-need situations; appointments may be renewed only if continued need is demonstrated
- Appointments made by Tarleton State University’s Office of Academic Affairs
