Jump Start

Jump Start is an intensive summer bridge program for first-time freshmen admitted to Tarleton State University for Fall 2010.  Participants are required to take a developmental math class, fitness walking and the University Seminar  Class during Summer II, 2010.

Jump Start  provides tuition, fees, room and board, and the use of textbooks and calculators to all participants.

Participants agree to participate in  Texan Orientation, Duck Camp and a prescribed  schedule of classes in Fall 2010 which will include University Seminar II.

To succeed in Jump Start, you will commit to taking responsibility for the same actions that will determine your success during your freshman year:

  • Attend the appropriate developmental math class (based upon placement testing) completing all assignments and tests.
  • Attend the math lab provided immediately after your developmental math class as well as Structured Learning Assistance.
  • Attend DGS 101-University Seminar to make a successful transition to college life.
  • Attend a Fitness Walking class.

Qualifications:

Have you been admitted to Tarleton State University for Fall 2010?

Do your college placement exams indicate that you will be required to take a developmental math course?

Have you been awarded a Pell grant?

Will you be the first in your family to receive a four -year college degree?
