2013 Scholars Orientation Schedule

The following schedule is effective for the April 27, 2013 and June 7, 2013 Orientation sessions only.

Scholars Orientation sessions are by invitation only, however, registration is still required. Please note that there is a $45 charge per person for parents and guests. There is no charge for the student.

10:25 to 10:40 am	Peer-to-Peer Session Get to know your leaders as they prepare you to navigate your Texan Orientation experience.	Various locations
10:25 to 11:15 am	What Parents and Families Need to Know ... Learn about the critical campus services in place to help your student success.	Fine Arts Theatre
10:45 to 11:10 am	Texas Success Initiative (TSI) meeting Required for Registration Accelerated Developmental Math Info Session	Various locations
10:45 to 11:10 am	Advanced Math Placement Info Session Some may opt to attempt testing into a higher-level Math course. For more information about this opportunity, contact the Department of Mathematics at (254) 968-9168.	TBA
10:45 to 11:10 am	Cultural Enrichment/Student Success	TBA
11:10 to 11:30 am	Student Research Break-out sessions	TBA
11:15 to 11:45 am	Parent/Family Connection Spend time in a small group with a Student Life professional to have your questions answered	TBA
11:15 am to 12:15 pm	Advanced Math Placement Exam	TBA

1 to 1:15 pm	University Updates	Wisdom Gymnasium (Volleyball Gym)
1:15 to completion	Advising and Registration The most important part of the day. Work with a faculty advisor to schedule your fall courses. This is a mandatory process that is for students only.	TBA
