2014 Orientation Schedule
Orientation is mandatory in order to enroll in classes and registration is required to attend. To register for Texan Orientation, you will use the link contained in an invitation that we sent to the email address with which you applied to the University. All students who have been admitted for Fall 2014 and are eligible to sign up have already been sent this email invite. If you need to search for this email, it was sent from email@example.com. If you need the email re-sent, or want to inquire as to why you have not yet received the invitation, please contact our office at (254) 968-9490 so we can assist you.
What happens at Texan Orientation?
You will learn about university resources, experience a day on campus, meet with an academic advisor and register for fall classes. Tarleton Transition Mentors (TTMs) will guide you and your guests throughout the day during your one-day experience. Please see a brief summary of the day's schedule below.
8-9 a.m. - Check-in
Orientation begins with check-in inside the ballrooms at the Thompson Student Center.
8:15-8:45 a.m. - PSA Information
Informational session for students enrolled in the Program for System Admission (PSA).
9-9:45 a.m. - University Welcome
Designed for you and your guests to be introduced to staff and Student Life resources such as:
- Texan Card
- Residential Living & Learning
- Campus Food Services
9:45-10:45 a.m. - #TarletonSuccess
Your roadmap to academic success. This presentation is designed to provide you and your guests with essential information to guide your path toward a timely graduation.

11 a.m.-1:10 p.m. - Information Rotation Sessions (includes lunch)
Students and guests will be introduced to the people who will play an important role in shaping the first steps to a successful college path from beginning to completion.

1:15 p.m.-Completion - College Meeting (STUDENT SESSION ONLY)
Meet with your college representatives and begin planning your course schedule for fall semester 2014.

1:15-2:30 p.m. - Parent/Family Resource Session
Information and resources will be shared with your parents/family to help you through your transition from home to college, both inside and outside the classroom. Presentations will be given by:
- Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students
- University Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs
2:30-4 p.m. - University Financial Resources
In the current economy, every penny counts. This session will help you understand the university's financial aid resources on campus. Have all you questions answered as to when, where and how to pay your tuition and fee bill.

2:30-4:30 p.m. - Resource Fair
Complete you day by exploring the on-campus and off-campus resources available to you. Learn about on-campus jobs, faith-based programs, the university alert system, parking, postal services, the campus bookstore, ROTC program and more.
