Student Publications

The Department of Student Publications provides students an opportunity for learning. It also provides the university at-large with a vehicle for discourse and dissemination of information through several communication channels. The department employs a student staff that is responsible for producing the JTAC News in print and online, and the Grassburr yearbook, as well as the Student Handbook. Students gain experience in modern journalism’s best practices and accepted techniques as well as print and new media production. Students gain marketable skills which they use to publish news, features and editorial opinion on topics relevant to the Tarleton State University community via these publications.

The Department of Student Publications has the added responsibility of designing and maintaining an Internet presence for the Division of Student Life and consults with division leaders regarding direction for its subordinate department’s Web presence.
