Cheerleaders

The Tarleton State University, Cheerleaders pride themselves in being one of the most enthusiastic and outgoing groups at the University. They rank among Tarleton's most visible student organizations and feature a solid core of campus leaders. The Texan Cheerleaders' role as a role model to the rest of the community is one that will never be taken for granted.

The Tarleton Cheerleaders are active throughout the entire school year, attending and performing at all of the University's home athletic events while also traveling to many of the road contests. Additionally, the Tarleton Cheerleaders perform for those in attendance at the Traditions Rally, "Midnight Madness", pep rallies, and many of the homecoming activities. Being such a major part of an ever growing University is one of the best things about being a Texan Cheerleader.

Tarleton's Cheerleaders have become a force to be reckoned with from a competition standpoint as well. Tarleton shows off around the state of Texas before taking to the beach each spring. Trips to Daytona Beach Florida for NCA Nationals have become one of the highlights of each new year for the Texan's. Over the past couple of years, Tarleton has made great strides in evolving from a non-competition squad to the tune of 5th, 3rd, & 2nd place finishes over the most recent years. This spring, under the direction of new coach Dan Benjamin, the Texans hope that their hard work pays off and they are able to take the next step and become National Champions.

Scholarships are awarded to members of the coed team who are eligible for them. In addition to scholarships, the Tarleton Cheerleaders also receive two hours physical education credit which is transferable and applicable to most degree plans. They may also waive out of state tuition for all out of state students.

**There will be only one more clinic before tryouts. It will be on April 20th from 12:30 to 4. The cost to attend is only $10! Take advantage of this opportunity to come and train with the best. Do not miss it! Contact Coach Benjamin ASAP for details!
