Head Coach
Daniel Benjamin, M. Ed. Tarleton State University

Coaching Information
Coach Benjamin was born and raised in Webberville, Michigan. He grew up with an unwavering passion for all sports, football in particular. He did not start cheerleading until he got to college at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. It seemed like a natural transition. Being an ultra competitive athlete, Coach Benjamin found a great amount of joy in the competitive aspect of cheerleading. He would go on to become a member of UCA Staff and began looking at cheerleading as a legitimate career opportunity. After his Sophomore year at Grand Valley State, Benjamin transferred into an up and coming Tarleton State University program where he quickly helped lead them to their best finish ever at NCA Nationals. The Texans were second that year.
That would be as close as he got to a National Championship, as the Texans were unable to take the final leap to the top. As a member of the team, Benjamin was named team captain and was a collegiate All-American. He would wind up pursuing a Masters Degree as the Graduate Assistant to the head coach at Tarleton State after falling in love with the University and the state of Texas. He finished his Masters in Kinesiology while coaching at numerous All-Star gyms around the metroplex. He spent the majority of his time at The Tumble Club in Burleson and Allegiance Cheer Company in Graham but also spent time coaching at Miss Tammys All Stars in Cleburn and at United Elite in Rockwall. In addition, Benjamin has many years of experience in managing competitions for companies like Spirit Celebration, Cheer Power and Cheer America.
Besides his new role as the Texan's Spirit Coordinator, Benjamin was also recently married to his dream girl, Miss Tara Towns who was a Texan Basketball player and is now pursuing a nursing degree from TSU. Coach Benjamin brings a positive attitude, passion, energy and enthusiasm that he hopes his athletes are able to feed off of. As far as the future goes, Coach Benjamin looks forward to making a positive impact on the lives of his young athletes and hopes that he is able to help create good, productive members of society. His competitiveness brings the Texan squad a new desire to take the next step and become champions.
