Smiling deliberately
A chemical kiss
Draws down the shades of my eyelids
To make it dark inside my head
Shutting out
The penetrating sky
Shhh…
Drowning in numbness
A pale face fading
Into a bleached reflection
Fossilized passion
Lingers beyond the glaze
