Granbury, TX - Jazz on the Green is coming back to the Langdon Center in Granbury.  The annual event kicks off on Sunday, October 21 at 2pm on the Langdon Center Lawn in Granbury followed a week later as part of the annual Harvest Moon Festival on Sunday, October 28.

Opening the first day of concerts will be the Cool Cats Combo followed by the Langdon Center Big Band under the direction of Mark Hettle. This community group has matured in sound over the past three years and will be sporting a program more classically jazz than big band.

Music on the 28th will open with the Pearl Street Combo followed by the always popular Tarleton Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Greg Ball.  Audiences have always enjoyed seeing fine student performances featuring many local performers.

“The Langdon Center Big Band now has a repertoire of music that covers five to six decades of big band, standards and jazz,” state Janice Horak, director of the Langdon Center. “With solid musicians and the great direction of Mark Hettle, this band has moved musical mountains in it short life.”
