7.1. Develop behavioral objectives at varying degrees of cognition.

7.2. Incorporate varying teaching methodologies into specific lessons.

7.3. Incorporated varying student engagement techniques into specific lessons.

7.4. Incorporate various questioning techniques and techniques for checking for understanding.

7.5. Develop lesson plans in varying physical format.

  1. Read this brief piece on Lesson Planning Proceedures.
  2. Read my Basic Guide to Writing Behavioral Objectives.
  3. Study Bloom's Taxonomy and Newcomb & Trefz Taxonomy for the action word that will define what your students will do following your lessons!
  4. Lesson plan formats are a personal preference, but the following Lesson Plan Components should be included to enhance your effectiveness!
  5. Don't forget that a lesson plan is also a place to plan and implement the use of Appropriate Questioning Techniques, Checking for Understanding Strategies, Engagement Moments, and various Teaching Methodologies. I would especially like to challenge you to utilize a method other than lecture!
  6. Here are several examples of lesson plans of differing styles. Style is completely up to you, however, you should keep in mind that your lesson should have the components mentioned in activity #4.
