Comprehensive Exam Review

Fall 2011

 

The comprehensive exam is on-line using Blackboard and has of two parts. A passing grade is requires in both parts.

 

The first part consists of questions in 4 areas, 1 from each of the 4 four core courses in the Information Systems Program. The grade for each question is pass/fail, and a passing grade is required on each of the 4 areas. You will have four (4) hours to complete the entire process once you reveal the questions. The questions will available November 4, 2011. You must be complete the question part of the exam prior to November 11, 2011.

 

The second part of the comprehensive exam is a term paper that covers 4 areas from each of the 4 four core courses in the Information Systems Program. Each area has a pass/fail grade, and a passing grade is required on each of the 4 areas. If there is any question regarding the term paper, the student will provide an oral defense.

 

You must be able to create and email a ZIP archive, apply for the exam TODAY, and must submit the completed material prior to November 11, 2011.

The rules of the exam to be satisfied are:

    1. One of the two following conditions are true:

1.        You have successfully completed all the courses covered by this exam, or

2.        You are expecting to graduate this term, have completed three of the courses covered by this exam, and are concurrently enrolled the fourth.

                        2. You understand the exam is composed of a set of questions and a term paper.

                        3. You will prepare your term paper using the WORD processor. Specifically, your paper will have

5.        15-20 pages in length.  

6.         15-20 references from current peer reviewed journals

                        4. You assert that the work you submit will be your own. Documents exhibiting any form of plagiarism to any level (copy-paste) fail without further consideration.

5. You will provide the title of your term paper, your name, and sequential page number at the top of each page.

6. Your grade is PASS/FAIL

7.  References using WIKIPEDIA, Google, or any other form of search engine or simple URL fail without further consideration.
