Children's Literature Book Awards Info. The Children's Literature Book Awards Info. page was created when I taught Children's Literature at Tarleton. The page offers information about many of the awards granted to authors and/or illustrators of children's and young adult literature. The annotated entries

• state when each award was first granted and by whom,
• explain each award's purpose,
• link to award sites for lists of winners and more information about the awards, and
• often include links to selection criteria.

These awards are granted for a wide variety of books: historical fiction, folklore, horror, mysteries, nonfiction/informational, picture books, poetry, science fiction, etc. In addition, some awards are presented to books that are written by or focus on specific population groups (African Americans, Latinos, etc.).

Activities, Interests & Hobbies

SHS Band Fan (aka Band Mom) Go on band trips, help with fund-raisers & support the band. My daughter, Shawnna, is in the Stephenville High School Band. She performs with the Color Guard & plays flute .		Garage Sale Specialist Love to look for "treasures" and "must-haves." Especially like looking for unusual items & frogs. Have more "to do" stacks than finished projects, but it's fun!
Girl Scouts Special Events Chair Erath County Girl Scouts Service Unit. Recruit volunteers to serve on event committees. Help plan and coordinate events for local Girl Scouts.		Leisure Time Activities Watching TV: Monk, SciFi channel, decorating shows. Sorting out "trillions" of pictures into albums. Daydreaming about how great an organized house would be.
Community Activities Help with Colony Cemetery restoration and events. Serve on Colony Cemetery Committee Board.		Hobbies Going fishing -- cane pole & simple rods, nothing fancy. Trying to get my flower beds in a manageable state. Watching Design on a Dime and wish-thinking.
